Some pros about both of them are that if you raise the age the teen would be more responsible than a sixteen-year old. If you use the GDL method people would have to earn their privilege which means they would be ready when they earned the privilege to drive all day long and in all areas. Another thing is that the teen will be able to know the rules better because they have had more experience if you use the GDL method. If you use the age method the driver would have more time to study the materials that they need to know to learn how to drive. Studies show that the percentage of crashes goes down a significant amount by using the GDL method.
Some cons are that the teen would not know much more about driving they would know just as much but they would just know it two years later if you raise the age. This helps by letting the driver master the driving technique before completely putting them freely on the road. Another reason is that it doesn’t just let you learn the rules to drive it lets the teen learn how to drive and the rules of how to drive. This helps because if all that the teen knows is the rules of how to drive and not how to drive responsibly they will crash easier but, if they know how to drive and the rules they can go onto the road and stay out of a crash.
