Can you imagine being seventeen and you can not go to a friends house ,because you can not drive and you have to wait for your mother or father to drive you? Well that could be reality ,many states have increased the minimum driving age. Our state is now considering raising it as well I think it should not be raised because driving is important from your teenage years on ,and it is our right to be able to learn and to drive at sixteen. To begin, you can learn alot from driving at sixteen. Studies have shown that the younger you are when you learn something ,the easier you learn it and more likely to remember it. Also if you start driving at sixteen you will have people there to teach you and help you learn from your mistakes, …show more content…
When you are a teen you want to have fun , but doing that at home can be hard at times, and sometimes people are to busy to drive you or just do not have the gas, what are you to do then. The place most sixteen year olds need to get to is school, and most people hate riding the bus, and having someone to dive you could make you late ,waiting for them. When driving yourself to school you only have to rely on yourself to get ready on time, which can help you make it to school on time. Being able to drive yourself can save your time and others. When you need to be driven somewhere someone has to give up some time of their day that they could have done something important with, or you would have to wait on the to get done with there work. When you are able to drive it saves time and effort for the both of you, and more can get done in less time. You would also have more fun if you can drive yourself around, because everyone's idea of fun is different, and being able to go where you want on your own means no one can tell you no and no one will be bored. While it is true that one out of nine teens will get in a wreck, this does not account for the fact that if you raise the driving age it will just be one out of nine young adults over eighteen. Raising the driving age will just raise the age of the people in the statistic. I believe this happens because it is about how much experience you have driving,

Why the driving age should not be raised Driving is a big art of maturing and growing as an individual. State governments are pushing for the driving age to be raised to eighteen, but there is no reason for this. Sixteen year olds are naturally capable to drive with their senses being heightened as they are younger. Generally, sixteen year olds are unfairly judged as irresponsible and not attentive enough to drive.…

Change the Legal Driving Age It is being continually expressed by the older generations that we as teens are reckless, thoughtless, and dangerous drivers. That we are just causing more problems for our parents, pedestrians, and other drivers as well. We are destroying the meaning of ‘safe’ of in our towns with our accidents and problems. The solution the ‘adults’ have come up with is to possibly change the legal driving age to a higher age.…

The state of Virginia is thinking about changing the minimum driving age due to safety concerns. Virginia is thinking about raising the minimum driving age from sixteen to eighteen. The state of Virginia should keep the minimum driving age at sixteen rather than raising it to eighteen because teens have more job opportunities, teens have a better social life, and teens have to be more responsible. Many job opportunities for teens are not within walking distance. Some teens in the area live in non rural areas with few job opportunities.…

Teens need to learn to drive at an early age incase there is ever an emergency and they are forced to drive. Teens need to learn responsibility while they’re still in high school so if they make a mistake they can be corrected. The minimum driving age should remain at 16 because teens can transport themselves instead of depending on a parent, they will gain responsibility, and their guardian can use that to keep them under control. The first reason the driving age should remain at 16 is so teens don't have to depend on their parents to transport them places. Parents are constantly having to take their children place.…

People who support raising the age of drive think that it decreases the number of accidents happen in the road by the teenagers. Actually, they need to lengthen the time of tuitions until they drive very well and they feel confidence enough while driving in the road.…

I don't think that the minimum legal driving age should be raised to 18 years. Teens are doing more than just preparing themselves for their future. Many teens have extracurricular activities, jobs, volunteer work and socializing. When teens younger than 18 can't drive, all these activities fall on to their parents, who may not have the freedom or willingness to shuttle their kids. And even though rising the driving age won't necessarily prevent teen driver crashes, it could just delay them.…

Why do I think you should be able to drive at 14 years old? Maybe you don't wanna wait on your mom to get home and take you to soccer practice, or you just want to go out with your friends on a friday night and don't have a ride so you can just take yourself. I also think you should be able to drive at 14 years old because,It depends on how mature you are and how well you learn. That's why you would have to take a driver's test and would have to score at a certain score to pass.…

The numbers of accidents of teenagers are continuing to rise, the highest death estimated for drivers is at an age of 16 to 18, if the driving age in increased that will decrease the number of accidents; it can be caused by shortage of experiences, not focusing on the road and using mobile phones while driving. There are countries that allow teenagers to drive at the age of 16, but teens in other countries can only drive at the age of eighteen. Driving at the age less than 21 should continue because it gives kids a feeling of self-rule and freedom.…
