In the year of 2015, Facebook is ranking number one in the most used social network. According to www.ebizmba.com, Facebook has about 900,000,000 "estimated unique monthly visitors. With such high numbers, Facebook must have some kind of influence on society. Begin negative influence or positive influence Facebook has it all. Beginning with the positive influences, Facebook can be a help to students who are in college. Dr. Bruce Johnson summed this up by writing, "The article Does Facebook Help Students Adapt to College? Discussed psychological research that confirmed the support students are likely to receive while they are in college. Dr. Chris Stiff of Keele University (UK) conducted a study about undergraduate students’ use of Facebook and found that “students who interacted more on Facebook in their first semester reported being happier and less stressed and had higher self-esteem” than students who were not actively involved with Facebook." Negative influences of Facebook on college students will be discussed further on. Yet, as long as students balance their time and activities, surrounding schoolwork and social media they will possibly be able to focus more. More influences that are positive spring from the "wall" on a users Facebook page.
