Social networks and our young generation Are you one of the people who is addictive of using social networking sites? Have you ever thought of the effects that it could possibly give you? Social networking has been trending since 2013 worldwide, according from one of the statements of the Wikipedia and for some; it is already a part of their lifestyle. The term social media was introduced and soon became widespread. As quoted by Richard Blumenthal, "social networking sites can be highly promising and beneficial in opening new friendships and vistas and knowledge of the world, but they are also fraught with peril when young people are reckless or headless." Using social networking sites appropriately and well balanced leads the young generation to be more physically fit, develop a healthier lifestyle and to interact more with the environment. Ladies and gentlemen, Goodmorning.
Let me take my stand from an opposing perspective as I read my arguments to persuade the young generation that the use of social networking sites

Although there are a lot of advantages and disadvantages, we should also be mindful and aware of the time we are giving for browsing the internet; because if we are over addictive in using social networking sites, there are a lot of negative effects that will result from excessive use of the media. Viruses, sexual predators, privacy issues, potential for misuse, unauthorized access, and risk for child safety, trolling and cyber bullying are just some of the disadvantages that we can get from excessive use of internet. We should balance the use of social networking sites in an appropriate way to maintain a healthier lifestyle and to interact and participate outdoor with our natural environment. The decision is within you. The question is, are you ready to take a step closer towards change? Or would you let the media drown
