The majority of the next ten years for me will likely be spent inside a classroom. I plan on obtaining a Ph.D. in criminal justice/criminology. As far as transfer schools go, I’m looking into Florida State University for my undergraduates and University of Maryland and Pennsylvania State University for my graduates. In terms of what type of degree I’here are a few paths I’d could possibly go down. I’m interested in getting a degree in criminal justice and some sort of social/behavior science. One of the paths I’m considering is doing a double major in both criminal justice/criminology and psychology during my bachelors. Another possibility is pursuing a joint degree in criminal justice/criminology and social work. And, if I’m feeling really ambitious, another possibility is doing both. I’m currently interested in working at the Office for Victims Assistance as a victim specialist, which is why I’d like to obtain a degree in both criminal justice and some sort of social/behavioral science. I’m also interested in working in the Violent Crimes Against Children unit as a special agent. If I’m not working at the FBI, I’d like to be working at a local police station within the Special Victims/Sex Crimes unit. Working with victims of crimes is one of my main interests and career goals. After personally meeting several victims of mental and physical abuse, I feel as though I’ll never be satisfied until I deal with victims
