First of all you should wear your seatbelt because they can save your life if you are in a car accident. If you choose not to wear your seatbelt and you are in a wreck then you could easily hit the steering wheel. Say that you are going a fast speed on an interstate and then all the sudden have to slam on your brakes you go from 75 to 0 because the car in front of you stopped.
