Everyone Should Wear Seatbelt Research Paper

Everyone should wear a seatbelt at all times while they are in a moving car. In the United States 75% of deaths and 90% of injuries are caused by people not wearing a seatbelt while they are involved in a accident. 30-40 people die each year in a crash because of not wearing their seatbelt and 250 are hospitalized. I have three reasons why you should have to wear a seatbelt while you are in a moving car.
First of all you should wear your seatbelt because they can save your life if you are in a car accident. If you choose not to wear your seatbelt and you are in a wreck then you could easily hit the steering wheel. Say that you are going a fast speed on an interstate and then all the sudden have to slam on your brakes you go from 75 to 0 because the car in front of you stopped. While they are stopped and you don't have the time to stop so you have no choice but to hit the rear in of the car your head could go flying in the steering wheel. Some car have airbags in the steering wheel but the airbags could also damage your brain. …show more content…
We should always wear our seat belt because it is the law. It is safer to wear a seatbelt than not. In 18 of the 50 states, the seatbelt law is considered a secondary offense, which means if a police officer sees a driver without wearing your seatbelt he cannot stop you and ticket the driver. In one state, Colorado if children are not properly buckled up the driver can get a primary offense and a much larger fine. In Arkansas the two people in the front seats of the car can get tickets. If you are 15 years or older you are covered. The maximum fine of first offense is twenty-five dollars plus court cost, city and jail
