Wk. 2 Evangelism and Discipleship Paper
Who is George Hunter III? I asked myself when reading our textbook. At first, I wondered if he was a bowling enthusiast because of his ten pins model of discipleship. I wondered if he had just rolled a strike when the Holy Spirit struck him with the idea of a ten pin model for discipleship. As my insatiable curiosity got the best of me, I decided to do some research on Mr. George Hunter III.
Now, I see why John Aukerman referred to him in his textbook on discipleship. Mr. Hunter is an expert on discipleship and noted for training church leaders in the ministry of evangelism. Now, he has my attention! Bowling enthusiast or not, Mr. Hunter has definitely rolled a strike with his ten pins model for

I like that. There is no better way to start out than with prayer. Jesus Christ came to “seek and save the lost” (Luke 19:10 KJV) and you better believe that when someone is seeking Him, He readily makes Himself available to them. God is in the people business and saving souls is His mission passed on to every believer. He has empowered His disciples with the Holy Spirit to go unto the uttermost part of the world proclaiming His Gospel message to all.
Pin two is “New relationship with God”. 2Co 5:17 (KJV) “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new”. We are regenerated and have a new nature and a new relationship with God. We are in His family and as the children of our new Father have received all spiritual blessings and have a heavenly inheritance. Rom 8:15 (KJV) “For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba,

His Word is the ultimate authority and there is nothing anyone can say that changes that. The only thing that should be said is Amen.
He that has an ear, let him hear and how shall they hear without a preacher? (Rom 10:14 KJV). The role of evangelism is vital in Christian education. Unless there are people, who is going to be educated in the Christian faith. Sheep get sheep, and disciples make disciples. Jesus made that clear when He gave His commission to every believer. Every believer must be educated to know that it is not only the pastor or leaders in the church responsibility to proclaim the Gospel but every believer is to obey that command.
Our churches today, seem to have placed a priority on other programs and place the program of evangelism on the back burner. The early church exploded onto the scene and that was because of the obedience of the people to evangelize. There is a need for revival in our church and we are in the process of revamping our Christian education program to revive our evangelism

Jesus the Christ traveled to several communities, cities, and surrounding areas in teaching the disciples how to become disciples. Training the veterans of Tabernacle (AMEC) to become disciples through The Fruit of the Spirit created a window of opportunity for spiritual growth. A training model by John A. Reflection On Tina Housers

Throughout my whole life I have never really tried to make an effort to evangelize. Even growing up and having friends who would have benefited if I tried to point them to Jesus, it never occurred to me that it was something that I should do. Another reason why I believe that this is a weakness is because I myself am not yet to the point where I am comfortable talking about my own faith. So if I am not even comfortable/struggling with my own faith how could I truly lead others to Jesus? One way to help myself in this area is to constantly ask myself the question that Houser states, “Are you doing what you’re doing in order to point others to…

Outline: In the Via Salutis the saving work of Christ is shown with justification and sanctification through several sermons of John Wesley. In the sermon Original Sin, our sinful nature is depicted, “Now God saw that all this, the whole thereof, was evil; -- contrary to moral rectitude; contrary to the nature of God, which necessarily includes all good…”. God saw us for who we truly were but still allowed His relationship with us to move passed legal justification, which we truly deserve. Repentance is also a topic that will be noted in regard to sanctification. John Wesley’s sermon The Spirit of Bondage and of Adoption states, “But at first ye knew it not, though ye were wallowing daily in your sins and in your blood; till,…

The Gospel accounts of Jesus’ evangelistic ministry are the single source used by Dr. Coleman in this volume. Jesus’ plan while He walked the earth was the focused mission of the salvation of the world. In order to do this He had a plan that He would choose a few men in whom He would invest His time. Over the course of three years, He would teach these men the principles which would lead to worldwide salvation of multitudes. The principles which governed Jesus’ teaching to the disciples were: 1) Selection; 2) Association; 3) Consecration; 4) Impartation; 5) Demonstration; 6) Delegation; 7) Supervision; and 8) Reproduction. On these eight principles, God, through His Son, Jesus Christ, realized His grand purpose to redeem for Himself “persons from every nation, tribe, people, and language. . .”3…
