In the article 10 Arguments for Legalizing Euthanasia written by Morris M. in September 12, 2013 he states, “If we knew exactly when we were going to die- and knew for a fact it would be painless- it’s a fair bet that fear would simply melt away. By allowing people to choose the how and when of their death, we’re guaranteeing they’ll live what remaining life they have to the fullest, free from the pain of anxiety.” This is basically stating, that if terminally ill patients can choose when they want to die and know it will be pain free, they will live their last days care free and to the fullest. It just all depends to the individual who has a terminal illness on what they want to do, if they want to get treatment which is costly and painful, or decide to live the rest of the days they have care free and pain free and then take the pill. But not only can the individual chose the Death with Dignity program, they can just choose not to receive any treatment at all and die a unexpected death which could either be a slow painful death or a death that is quick. That is the only down side about just deciding not to take the Death with Dignity program. One of the reasons as to why some people are afraid to choose to take the Death with Dignity program is because it’s something that is not socially acceptable. It’s not socially acceptable partly because of religion. When it comes to the Catholic Church, one can’t commit suicide because it’s going against Gods will. It is going against Gods will because it is not ones time to die. That’s why it’s partly not socially
