One day my boyfriend and I were heading to goodwell to grab a few items from my room. As we passed the Gazebo an officer who was sitting idle began to follow us. My boyfriend waited in the car while I went to my room. I grabbed my things and went back to the car. My boyfriend mentioned as he was waiting on me the police officer circled his car. We proceeded to leave campus. Once again we were followed. The actions of this officer were unreasonable as we were not doing anything wrong. I guess if we were in a BMW instead of a cutlass the officer would not have followed us. Police should not stalk innocent people, police departments should implement a personality test, and issue body cameras to each officer. A police officer is supposed to protect their community and maintain order. However police officers should not stalk, or profile citizens of their community. For example, a police officer sitting in his car sees a couple of African Americas leaving a convenience store proceeds to follow them. Out of all the customers who came out of the store the officer focused on the African Americans. Observing and following are two different things. When someone …show more content…
By implementing a personality the chances of a hostile work environment are reduced. Therefore any unnecessary stress will not be place on officers. I have worked a lot of jobs were the hiring manager would hire people just because they knew the person.
