A hero is not somebody who fights crimes or defeats the antagonist of a story, in fact that is a superhero. A superhero is a fictional man or woman who has powers that are unknown to man kind. A hero is a normal human being who goes about their daily lives just like everyone else, except for the fact that they make a change in peoples lives. In the “Letter from Birmingham Jail” King is standing up for is believe about segregation and racism and how he will follow through with his plans in direct action. Throughout the letter King mentions other men who stand up for their right and how they are considered to be a hero. He also tells us what makes them a hero and what he think a hero should be like as a person. Lincoln finalized slavery with the power of his words. “ ‘This nation cannot survive half slave and half free’ ” (par 27). Lincoln was a hero to all the slaves that were enslaved working for a white man. He set the slaves free and gave them the freedom they deserved.
