The first scene is the intro to the hero’s world. The intro to the hero’s world usually shows the hero as a baby or child that makes them the way that they are. Superman was shot off to earth, because his parents were under attack and he grew up discovering his powers. When a hero crosses the threshold they are usually finding out ways on how to use their superpower or going to a place where they can find out how to use it. The hero leaves their “normal” place. ‘Where Three Stories Meet’ states, “As the hero prepares to pass from the Ordinary World into the world of adventure, she must get past a threshold guardian or guardians who block the way. In order to progress, the Hero will have to pass the test, co-opt the energy of the threshold guardian or defeat the guardian entirely.“ Jesus crosses the threshold in Luke 3:21. It says “Now when all the people were baptized, it came to pass, that Jesus also being baptized, and praying, the heaven was opened. Jesus has officially crossed the threshold into His journey.
