Teachers “Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world.” A great leader Nelson Mandela stated this. Education is tremendously valuable and plays a large part in today’s society. The ability to learn and grow as a person is something people should never take advantage of, however they do it on a daily basis. The ability to attend school and get an education today is under-appreciated in society, which makes the profession of teaching in the United States an get underpaid profession. Teachers give people the ability to learn and explore for all the information they need to know before they enter the real world and become doctors, lawyers, dentists, surgeons, etc. There are current battles today between teachers and governments on collective bargaining, and salary talks. There isis also talk about how the government isn’t is not extremely concerned with the quality of education that students are getting, rather just if students are graduating. Teachers are also one of the few full time employees who have to find part-time jobs just to be able to support their family. Teachers are underappreciated, and they need to be compensated for their effort, work, and devotion to the education of the student. Learning is power, and the more people learn, the more they grow as people and the more we grow as a society and culture. The United States has given its people the opportunity to get an education all the way up through the 12th grade.
