Have you ever thought about being at the top of the world? Person without the will and fortitude cannot imagine to do so. But, some person has strong desire and passion to achieve the adventurous glory to reach in the top of the world. Two person to achieve such glory at first are, Sir Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay Sherpa. These two ideal personalities from different countries who have everything uncommon except their willingness to climb the highest peak, came together and make it happen despite of many problems, in May 29. 1953 they were able to reach on the top of Mount Everest.
Edmund Hillary was an adventurous person from New Zealand. He was born on July 20, 1919.Edmund Hillary, discovered his love towards snow in the age of 16 when he was taken to Mount Ruapehu in Tongariro National Park as a school trip. After the completion of high school, he continued his interest by climbing the another peak Mount Olivier in New Zealand’s Southern Alps at the age of 20 before meeting the summit. Edward got a chance to learn more about hills while he joined the workforce which gave him more chance to climb the peaks in his free time. Hilary has climbed numerous mountains in New Zealand, the Alps and the long run Himalayas during his off time. He went up again 11 crests more than 20,000 feet in rise. Basically after climbing such peaks, he started to set his sights on the world’s most elevated mountain, Mount Everest. He was invited to join British Expedition to Everest on 1951.Although it was unsuccessful at first, but the ninth British campaign to Everest, drove by John Hunt was fruitful. The first team were exhausted due to insufficient oxygen and had to return back but Edmund Hillary and Tenzin Norway who carried the oxygen with them were first to summit the Everest on May 29, 1953 at 11:30am. It would not have become possible for Edmund Hillary to achieve the success without the help of Tenzing Norway and other Sherpa people After his accomplishment, he helped Sherpa people in many ways, he founded the Himalayan trust, which built schools, hospitals and transportation hubs in Nepal. He suggested the government to establish Sagarmatha National Park to protect the area near that surround Mt. Everest. Tenzing had saved Hilary’s life in the early stage of 1953 expedition. They both learned to respect each other as a mountaineers. When they reach the summit they lingled about 15 minutes at the top. Hilary captured the photo as Tenzing unfolds the flags of Nepal, India and United States. There is no picture of Edward Hillary as Tenzing was unfamiliar with the camera.
Conclusion – To conclude, these personalities were totally different from each other. They do not have any similarities rather than reaching the top of mountain. They were introduced to each other while joining the team to reach Mt.Everest. Tenzing Norgay and Edward Hillary were the first reaching the Mount Everest leaving the whole team behind.
