How many times do you satisfy your hunger by grabbing a bag of chips rather than a banana or quench your thirst by drinking pop instead of water? Eating healthy and getting enough exercise on a daily basis can be difficult. By keeping a food diary and physical activity diary for five days I am able to see what my trends and bad habits are as well at what I did well nutritionally. Some of these trends and habits can lead to health risks later in my life, so to reduce these risks there are plans and recommendations for eating a balanced meal and staying healthy physically. I consider myself a healthy eater and I like to check the food labels on items for amounts of carbohydrates, fats, protein, sodium, and even the first few ingredients. I like to know what I’m eating and how much I should eat of foods. My snacks are healthy, including bananas, almonds, yogurt, or granola bars. I eat small meals frequently throughout the day. I also drink plenty of water. Water is very important to your health and throughout my five days of tracking I only drank water and a few carbonated flavored waters. Most of the time for lunch and supper I am eating the same thing for two days or more. We eat a lot of leftovers in my house. This may lead to a deficiency of certain nutrients like fiber or protein. By eating the same thing over and over I may be getting too much of one nutrient and not enough of another. A trend that I noticed in my eating is that towards the weekend I start to cheat. On…
