Even to this day, when its used in celebrity performances, Broadway plays, competitions, and even in the street I would just see it as a hobby or part of the performance that made the performance look better. I guess we could say that dance to me was irrelevant in the art industry, but Crimp opened my mind to an appreciation towards dance. Dance is being used as a type of protest, as a language with no words, a language that is read within movements and expressions. If the performance is rough, then it possibly means anger. If its smooth, with passion then I would receive a sense of love. As I think back to any dance performance I can question myself to whom are they speaking, what are they trying to say with their moves, and to what are they responding
