Significance of the Problem and Stakeholders The importance of addressing domestic violence is focusing on the interests of different stakeholders. The most notable include: the media, coaches / teams, families and the players. Each one of them has are concerned about quickly addressing the issue, so that life can go back to normal for them. In the case of the media, they are motivated by a liberal agenda. This means that anything which is not politically correct will be continuously debated. To make matters worse, they will receive more viewership and better ratings when they focus on the sensationalism of domestic violence. The recent events with Ray Rice and Adrian Peterson are the classic examples of how they used them as talking points to promote their views and underscore the importance of the issue (Kluck, 2015). Coaches and teams have an interest in protecting their brand. This means that they want to show how they are proactive. While at the same time, they do not want to see their star players off the field for long periods of time. This is because it could impact their ability to win games, increase revenues and adversely impact the organization’s standing with the fans.
