It is then made apparent Dillan has a disorder and cannot function at the same rate as other people. Dillan’s mother states, “One of the challenges is in the area of not having communication, not having a way to know what he is thinking and feeling. As the commercial proceeds, it is made aware that the Ipad is able to do these things for Dillan and accommodate to what he needs. Also, it is stated that Dillan is often misunderstood and mistaken for unintelligent when he is only incapable of speaking his thoughts clearly, but in the end Dillan uses his Ipad to describe what he is thinking and the people in his life explain how much easier it is to communicate with Dillan with the help of his Ipad. Dillan’s Ipad speaks for him, stating, “People all need a voice, not only so they be heard, but fully understood and known.” Thus, it is assumed the importance it is to be able to communicate with others.
