Moving boxes up and down three flights of stairs, rearranging the whole kitchen, dusting every inch of the basement, setting up storage, setting up the buffet; today had been an at home workout. My mom and I had been cleaning our house all day long, although I still felt full of energy. Although my mouth was still watering at the thought of a veggie burger loaded with avocado, sautéed onions, american cheese, lettuce, tomato, on a toasted hamburg roll after we finished. My mom on the other hand was cranky, annoyed, agitated, and exhausted from cleaning; from just dusting the oak buffet in the dinning room to cleaning the whole house like today my mom easily would become tired after just five minutes of cleaning, then complain the rest of the way through. Being the polite daughter I am, I asked her if she also wanted a veggie burger. She snapped and said, "I 'll have no energy if I eat that. Why don 't you have a piece of veal with me, Emily"? I was beginning to think my mom would never accept that I was never eating meat again. I did not need a piece of veal or steak to fill me up; I would feel even more energized with a veggie burger and sweet potato fries in my stomach. After cleaning our house and eating my delicious veggie burger I still had loads of energy to go to the gym for an hour and a half and do my cardio routine.
