One reason I do believe that these noises are affecting whales is because scientist conducted an experiment over a two year span, and found out that the these sonar testings are interrupting the communication between whales. I know this because in the passage it states," the increase of underwater noise has interfered with the whales ability to "hear" one another." The scientist concluded that the underwater noise changed the diving and feeding patterns of the whales. It would be like the population of the magnificent creatures could not thrive but survive, we need to cut back on the underwater noise. …show more content…
This claim has no solid, confirmed evidence that backs up the theory of why this does not harm the animals. The passage also states that they use sonar pings of different animals, and this had no affect on the whales. How would this not affect them if they depend on sonar pings from other animals just to survive? After all, the claim that sonar noises do not affect animals does not apply. I think this because of many reasons, but one reason is that they were very repetitive about their claims, making me believe they didn't have many ways to prove that these beautiful, magnificent animals are not affected by these sonar pings. I still believe that these animals are being harmed and we need to do something about
