Social media is the home of cyber bullying. That can potentially make kids depressed, and then bad things happen. Social media has been around for a long time, and it all started with a website called Six Degrees, and there is no doubt that cyber bullying was born there. Some may say its fast communication, some may say it is fast communication, but it isn’t worth it. Social media never affects society in good ways. To begin, social media has a negative effect on teens because it destroys personal interaction. Author Kristin Lewis wrote the article, Could You Become a Mean Meme? And said this, “Older generations used to hang out face to face. However, teenagers now use social media to communicate.” (p12, Coll 2) To clarify, social media takes away the need to talk to friends face to face, which can destroy friendships.
