There and Back Again: My Love for the Hobbit& The Lord of the Rings
Life is not easy. When life gets tough, we all need an escape from reality. My escape is The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The books allow me to escape from harsh reality and go on an adventure. I put in one of the movies, and the world around me melts. I am transported to a mythical land full of elves and orcs, heroes and villains. These books and movies have became more than entertainment, they are comfort, teachings, and lifelong memories. The Hobbit is a children 's fantasy novel written by J. R. R. Tolkien, and published in 1937. The book was made into three movies which were filmed from 2012 to 2014. In The Hobbit, a hobbit named Bilbo Baggins finds The Ring while in the company of twelve dwarves and Gandalf the wizard. The Lord of the Rings is a three-volume epic fairy-tale, written by Tolkien from 1937 to 1949. The books were adapted into three movies which were filmed from 2001-2003. In the Lord of The Rings, Frodo must destroy The Ring. The books have sold millions of copies worldwide. The movies won seventeen Academy Awards, and were a major financial success. The cast included great actors such as Orlando Bloom, Ian McKellen, and Andy Serkis. The film was shot in beautiful New Zealand, and cost $281 million.
