This group has been shown to have the highest obesity problem in the community of interest. By targeting the parents, they can learn healthier ways of eating so as to prevent themselves and their children from becoming overweight or obese. In addition, we hope that this program will help with future generations as the children in these families grow up with knowledge about proper nutrition. It is our hope that they will continue to eat healthy for the rest of their lives, thereby teaching their children and so on.Young children and teenagers develop eating habits that stay with them throughout the rest of their lives. Not only is this a great source of whole, healthy foods, it is also inexpensive. The cost of tomato seeds, for example, is only a fraction of the cost of buying the same amount of tomatoes at the local store.
