I am the director of the Hillsborough County health department. I want to develop an intervention that address women’s weight issues to prevent childhood obesity in African Americans. This an important issue to address, because eating behaviors evolve during the first years of life as biological and behavioral process directed toward meeting requirements for health and growth (). Children rely on their parents when it comes to procurement and preparation of food. Living in urban areas has a negative influence on they live, because of food desert. Food desert are urban areas where it is difficult to buy fresh food. They have access to plenty of unhealthy food and no option for a healthier option.
