I completely agree with the speaker's view on common core. I don't think that the standards for the education system should be industrialized. They claim that it is a rigorous program that prepares students for college but it just prepares students for testing. It doesn't teach children how to learn, just how to take tests. The states that implemented these standards essentially had to be bribed to do so. That fact alone shows that something is wrong with common core. These standards also limit what and how the teachers can teach. If their job is now all about making sure students pass the common core tests, then they can't teach students the way they want.
