This letter is to request my reinstatement to University of Maryland University College. My poor academic performance was not just a bad reflection of myself but also of what knowledge I should have been able to show I learned from taking intriguing classes.
I have never been a person to give up and usually go full force with anything I would like to pursue. This may not be the best description; however, I believe I may have hit my own version of a mid-life crisis. Or just a crisis in general since I hope to live a lot longer than this. When I was younger I had a dream job, once it was time to hit college that is what I was aiming for and fell short of. It was not that big of a hit for me at the time, so I decided to go another route in hopes of making it to the finish line. Once I had the finish line in sight I stopped. I hit a wall and came to realize that the finish line I was headed to was not fully what I wanted. I lost motivation and just trying to do anything was hard. I have never really had to face failure before and that was my first memorable failure. My way of coping was jumping into work. I had a meeting with myself and decided it was time to get organized. The first thing I had to see was my goal, however this time I decided to think of all the steps I would need to take to get there before just imagining myself there already. I have also decided to focus on my time management skills. Going full force into something is not terrible but there is a time and place for everything, and sometimes assigning the right amount of time into different tasks is vital. Another key factor that will help is that I have been able to work with my supervisor to find a better shift so that my working hours do not get in the way of
