Classical Vs. Classical Civilization Essay

Many different civilizations have impacted history throughout time. The most evolutionary times of these civilizations were between 600 B.C. and A.D. 1200 when they began to organize institutions and characteristics. These “defining and long lasting civilization patterns shaped by belief systems, including philosophies and religions, can be understood as classicism.” The base of classicism can also be seen as the expansion of societies into civilizations. There are five classical civilizations that are majorly preserved - classical Greek civilization (600-200 B.C.), classical Roman civilization (500 B.C.-A.D. 500), classical Chinese civilization (500 B.C.-A.D. 500), classical Indian civilization (300 B.C.-A.D. 500), and classical American civilization (100-900). These classical civilizations have left a lasting legacy of ideas, institutions, and art that has impacted the development of history throughout time. Classical Rome was dominated by their ideas and institutions of law. The beliefs in God’s law or church law started out as an idea and ended up as an institution. The Judean section of the Roman Empire formulated God’s law. They accepted a “covenant, or pact between Yahweh, their God, and his people to obey the law, called the ten commandments.” These commandments were written in the Torah, the 5 Books of Moses. Jesus of Nazareth was a Jew that followed the Judaic message, but focused on brotherly love and love of God. This started the division of Christianity.…
