I believed Clara Barton should be nominated for the “Guardian of the Lives” award. Clara Barton was born in North Oxford, Massachusetts in 1821. Clara was always a caring person and later became a nurse after many different varieties of jobs . But when the civil war broke out, she was one of the first volunteers to care for the wounded soldiers.
After her father’s death, Clara left the hospital and cared for soldiers. She collected distributed supplies for the Union and Confederate army. She started bringing three army wagons full of supplies. She also provided transportation to wounded soldiers. Clara was very experienced with the soldiers because she participated in battle of Antietam. She played an important nurse role. While
