Chicago And Windy City Comparison

I recently spent a few spectacular days in the Windy City. Chicago is home to a few of my favorite things, Italian Beef Sandwiches, The Chicago Bears, and my lovely 97 year old grandmother. I personally have originated from Orlando, Florida and that definitely makes me impartial to a couple things, like the weather here, my cozy suburban lifestyle and of course, Universal! These cities are very uniquely, polar opposites, but capture the beauty of life as it is in each place. Most noticeably different about these two places may be the weather. The Windy City didn’t get its name for nothing. The day I stepped foot off the plane on October 2nd of this year, it was immediately chilling to this Florida girl. After being so used to Florida’s sunshine and warmth the quick winds of the inner city are harsh on newcomers. Although both of these fine cities operate on seasonal change, Chicago seems to move much quicker than the south. Already 62 degrees that day, the wind was no kinder. The trees had already begun to change colors, shaping into beautiful deep reds and pleasant orange. Orlando is still vastly green this October and to be under 75 degrees would stunning. …show more content…
City life in Chicago is much faster, the drivers are way crazier and the buildings much grander than any I have seen in Orlando. Our tallest building in Orlando is the SunTrust building, standing 32 floors high and 441ft. In Chicago, famous for its view, is the Sears Tower. Standing 108 floors and 1,450ft. Suburban life seems similar in both places. Once you find yourself in neighborhoods outside the city, everything becomes much calmer. My favorite part of suburban life in Chicago is game night at my grandmothers, but in Orlando it’s just the same at my family’s home. No matter how different two cities may be you can always find similarities if you look hard

When thinking of Florida and all of the snakes, alligators, bears and countless unknown insects, it doesn’t normally draw the attention to people of various age groups as an “enjoyable” place to live in. Although there are many cons to the state and what goes on it, the pros seem to outweigh them. There may be some wild animals and temperatures, but you never have to worry about shoveling snow in the winter! Having lots of history and attractions, beautiful weather, and tons of vacation spots by far makes Florida a great place to live.
