~~~~~ Chavalas family Christmas ~ 2014 ~~~~~
Man’s maker was made man, that He, Ruler of the stars, might nurse at His mother’s breast; that the Bread might hunger, the Fountain thirst, the Light sleep, the Way be tired on its journey; that the Truth might be accused of false witness, the Teacher be beaten with whips, the Foundation be suspended on wood; that Strength might grow weak; that the Healer might be wounded; that Life might die. – Augustine of Hippo At the end of each year, we want to remember the blessings that God has given us… Benjamin, 15, in 10th grade, continued in baseball and parkour. He also teaches parkour classes at the local YMCA on Saturdays, and David has joined him there. Not only is …show more content…
David, 17, in 12th grade, has completed a course on health at Western Technical College. He continued to work at Village Creek Bible Camp, and locally at a sandwich shop. He also bagged his first deer in late November! Jonathan, 19, is a junior at UW-L, majoring in Political Science. In July, he moved in with a few other fellows about ten blocks from us. We are excited that he will be home during Christmas and the New Year. Elizabeth, 23, changed jobs and now works for Northwestern Mutual in La Crosse. But that was not her biggest change….She became Elizabeth Luttenegger. We had a wonderful summer wedding at Riverside Park and equally wonderful reception at our church in Onalaska. Aaron and Elizabeth were driven to the church in a yellow 1929 (right date?) Model A. Her husband, Aaron, is completing his last year at Viterbo University, majoring in sociology. He is also on staff at our church, First Evangelical Free Church, where he helps to lead worship. Aaron and Elizabeth have a wonderful apartment downtown in La Crosse. Kimberlee continues to co-teach a college women’s Bible study this fall at home, help in a local women’s jail ministry, and help host Mark’s Bible study (no matter what and how much is served, they eat everything). Furthermore, Kimberlee and Mark continue to be a friendship family for international students (this year from China). Kimberlee is now on the board of the La Crosse Friends of International Students. Mark is still teaching at UW-L, and was able to take a sabbatical leave for this
