As his head coach, I have witnessed him mature as a young man and teammate and this maturation has never been more apparent than this year, his senior season. He had patiently waited and worked extremely hard for four years to get his chance to be the varsity starting quarterback this year but a few games into the season that it became apparent that the team would be best served to have someone else take over. Nathan could have let this adversity affect him negatively and let this spill over to the team, but instead he fully embraced the team concept and helped lead his team through deed and example to a highly successful season.
Outside of the classroom and football field, Nathan has shown himself to be willing to give back to our school and community by volunteering. His best work is seen in the way he works with the youth of our community by devoting his time at camps to teach the finer skills of being a football player. In working these camps he also helped to raise over $2,000 for a teacher who is battling cancer. Surely Nathan shows himself to know the joy of service and will continue to know this throughout his
