Communication has went on a downward spiral since cell phones have become popular. Some will say cell phones have made a great impact in society by allowing individuals to chat with family members or friends hundreds of miles away. Some also say they are an advancement in society because of the availability of the internet. However there are more downsides to cell phones. Cell phones have taken over everyday conversations and have changed the way the world communicates. The younger generation has experienced a type of bullying no other generation has encountered: cyberbullying. Along with the evolution of bullying, there has been an increase of wrecks due to cell phone usage. Young Americans should be against cell phone usage because many wrecks are caused by texting and driving, cyberbullying has increased, and interpersonal communication has decreased. Though many people may think that texting is a good thing, it has proven to be more dangerous to do while driving than being under the influence. Teenagers just cannot fight the urge to reach over in their cup holder and grab their phone to see why it lit up.
