“ Lung cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in one or both lungs. These abnormal cells do not carry out the functions of normal lung cells and do not develop into healthy lung tissue. As they grow, the abnormal cells can form tumors and interfere with the functioning of the lung, which provides oxygen to the body via the blood.”
Lung Cancer is one the the leading causes of death in the world and more people need to understand its significance. Cancer is considered a disease. When the tumor forms and starts to spread through the body and starts to invade other tissues and organs. When this happens it is called metastasis. When the tumor invades the tissues it starts to destroy them. Then once the organs start to shut down the body starts to die as well. By the time the cancer starts to get to the metastasis stage it 's very hard to treat. As the tumor starts to grow it will start producing blood vessels for it to grow in size.
Many different things cause cancer. Most cancer comes from: tobacco use, obesity and diet, environmental factors, and infections. Cancer can affect anyone. Young people get cancer, old people get cancer,sick people get cancer, and even healthy people can get cancer. Although the older you are the more likely you are to get cancer. A significant amount of people with cancer end up dying from it.
