Cancer is one of the leading causes of death in the world today. Studies show that one in three people will get some form of cancer in their lifetime. There are various different types of cancer, and many different treatments for specific cancers. Some cancer researchers and doctors have already found ways to treat different types of cancer, but not all of them. Cancer is basically when the cells in your body start to grow out of control. As I mentioned before there are many different kinds of cancer such as Carcinoma cancer that begins on the skin or in tissues that line and cover internal organs. There’s Sarcoma that begins in bone, cartilage, fat, muscle, blood vessels, or other connective or supportive tissue. Leukemia is a cancer that …show more content…
Cancer can have any type of symptom. The signs and symptoms will mainly depend on where the tumor is and if the cancer has spread you will see symptoms in different parts of the body. Sometimes you won’t see or feel the symptoms until the tumor has grown quite large. For example when someone has pancreatic cancer, they won’t necessarily feel it until the tumor grows quite large. Once the tumor gets bigger it will press against other internal organs and nerves. This will then cause back or stomach pains. Other times the tumor will grow around the bile duct which will eventually block bile flow. Once this happens the skin and eyes will turn a yellowish color (jaundice). When signs like that happen it usually means it’s an advanced tumor and has probably spread to other parts of the body. A cancer may also cause symptoms like fever, extreme fatigue or weight loss. These most likely happen because of the cancer cells draining energy from the body or they can release substances that change the way the body makes energy from food.
