Whether to Move?

God is all seeing and all knowing, when the community around a church changes we are not called to run away but find a way to share the message of Christ with them. If the church leaves are we sending a message the Jesus only cares for people in the suburbs? Jesus ministry while on earth was to the poor, sick and ostracize the ministry of the church should look the His ministry.

One of the biggest challenges churches face that want to stay in the community is culture and language differences. When the church focuses on differences we can lose our way and get distracted. Satan is counting on us becoming discourage and not trying to reach our neighbors with the gospel. The temptation to plant another church that speaks the same language and looks like the people around the church this only causes move separation. We need to learn what it means to love beyond color and cultural differences and be the church that looks like the kingdom of God.
How will the church survive economically?
Every church will face economical challenges at some point. The body of Christ really struggles when it comes to living as sojourners on earth. Having a kingdom world view calls us to keep our heart and eyes on eternal things not the temporary things of this world. In Matthew 6:19-21 Jesus tells his followers, “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust[e] destroy and where thieves break in and steal, 20 but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. 21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. The Kingdom work of sharing the gospel and disciplining others in an eternal work, that’s rewards are far more valuable than anything this world could

The church has to get out of the four walls and meet the people in the neighborhood. That’s what keeps the church growing. I like how New Beginnings Church in not just meet in Southeast Fresno the are meeting Southeast Fresno. They are meeting them with the love of Christ and inviting them to know Him as their Lord and Savior. That’s what the church is call to do in every community. Jesus told His disciples in Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. 19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in[b] the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.” If the church leaves a community without reaching the lost in that community message are we sending?
