In my opinion, what is causing the turnover at Columbus Custom Carpentry is mainly due to human resource issues. Even though human resource responsibilities are shared among some members of management, there seems to be no sense order. According to Barbara Duff, president’s administrative assistant, she has been doing the employment and record keeping tasks in addition to her job and this prevents her from doing most of her own job. Some duties and responsibilities are not clearly defined and this has created tension among employees. There is a feeling of distrust, blame, competition, and lack of equity among employees.
