Ethical Issues In The Boeing Company

According to an article by The Economist about the Boeing Company, shows that the company is being investigated for moving production from Washington to South Carolina in an attempt to evade labor unions. The Boeing Company has been under investigation by the United States National Labor Relations Board [NLRB] to determine the reasoning for moving their production factories to an anti-union state in South Carolina. The concerns of whether is this legal, ethical, and legitimate for Boeing to administer will be determined. Likewise, I will provide ideal solutions accordingly in detailing The Boeing Companies explanation and response to their unions. The purpose of analyzing, identifying, and justifying Boeing’s stance is to make the appropriate decision in determining the ethical issues.
The Boeing Company has unions under their engineer and tech workers known as the International Association of Machinists & Aerospace Workers, who work in Seattle, Washington at a factory to create and build the jet planes. There are nearly 23,000 engineers and technical workers that are represented in the union by Boeing. The workers are having their pensions cut heavily due to the shift in location for production. It is unethical and illegal for labor unions of a company to have other employees be obligated in joining the union. Also, it’s illegal for the union leaders to use union money for their own personal or private use. In order for these ethical issues between the workers and the management is to develop building a better relationship that encourages and earns trust and loyalty. Thus, loyalty can’t be demanded upon an employee, although obedience can as long as what is commanded is ethically work related and neither illegal or
