According to a paper written by Andrea Cohn and Andrea Canter, they say that bullying is the most common form of violence in our society today; between 15% and 30% of students are bullies or victims(Bullying in Schools 4). Bullying in the schools has gotten way out of hand and has been troubling for researchers trying to find a solution for many years. Anyone can become a bully no matter what shape or size that person is. Bullying is a terrible thing to deal with as it is but having to deal with it is another challenge within itself. There has been many laws passed to help stop bullying everywhere around the United States. Bullying has plagued schools for decades and has been a well-known problem for students and even adults since you can imagine. Bullying has always caused problems in schools since students started to attend it. Bullying has become more prevalent in schools today then ever before. About 25 percent of children have been bullied at some time while in school(Bullying in Overview 4). If you talk to any student at any school most of them will agree that there is bullying going around. They would probably even say that they were a victim of a case of bullying. Bullying is always going on in schools and it is the students or the teachers decision to either ignore it or do something about it.
