Anders mentions as well what he does like about Keriotis’ writing in the short story. Anders states, “I like the double breaks Keriotis includes in his writing, which means the story’s time and place have changed.” Anders also says he likes Keriotis’ way of “paralleling” the two worlds Sam is a part of. Anders states some of the contrasting that Keriotis includes in this short story, which is how in his home town of Olivia, North Dakota Sam Tootle is not really appreciated and is kind of an outsider among his family, “Sam’s mother seems very nice,”
