After the Church ceremony, we headed for the Botanical Gardens. We decided it was a perfect spot to take our wedding pictures, and we were right. The picturesque gardens were mesmerizing in their beauty with the autumn mosaics of colors. Our first pictures as husband and wife couldn’t be taken in better scenery.
Later it was time to feed the guests and celebrate our new life together. We all headed to the Banquet Hall. The reception was held at a Ball room that made quite an impression on everyone. There were beautiful paintings hanging from elegantly papered walls. Big round tables dressed in a white cloth, each decorated with a flowery center piece. Each chair was adorned in golden bow and the matching napkins. Each of our guests received a little souvenir on their plate, which consisted of tiny Polish vodka bottle and Swiss chocolate.
The reception began with my husband and I standing by the door with our parents; welcoming and greeting our guests as they entered the room and went to sit at their tables. As the guests were seated then Pavel and I made the official entrance, followed by Oczepiny. Oczepiny is an ancient Polish ritual, during which the bride symbolically passed from maiden status to married.
