The ferryboat finally arrived and we hopped on. We all battled with our luggage and eventually sat down. We all talked and socialized and before we knew it, we were there. So, when we had gotten to the legal inspection, the officers had called us one by one, in order, to come up and speak to a large man behind a wooden, large table. The man was in a dark blue suit, with a white tie and white undershirt. When we were called, there was a total of twenty-nine questions that were already answered about you on another piece of paper, and if we got different answers than what it said on the paper, we were kept for them to make sure it's really that person, and not a dumb impostor. They were stupid questions, but they were mandatory. They asked you about your birthplace, relationship status, criminal records, how much money you had, where you were going, and so on. They probably hadn't seen each other in months. My family and I inhaled loudly at the view of the clear, sparkly water, and the smell of the fresh air around our noses. We were exhausted but we knew that this day was going to end and we knew it was going to end well. To celebrate our accomplishment, we spent some of the little money we had on some American, ice-cold, ice cream. Conner tapped me on the shoulder and said, “It sure isn't as hot as it was at home!” He grinned. I smiled and said, “You were right, and I'm glad we made it here together, without any trouble.
