Hard year

I just got home after a long, but fun day at school when everything changed. My grandfather and my grandmother came to our house with eyes filled with tears. They came to tell that my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer and that it was really bad. I had no idea what to do, because it was just my three little sisters and I who were home that day. As I was the oldest, I tried to calm everyone down, including myself, by telling them it was probably not that bad. Not knowing that my grandfather’s health would rapidly get worse and worse.

Only five months after the day my grandfather was diagnosed with cancer, his health status got so bad, that he had to stay in bed all day, because moving was just too painful. This meant that my mother had to go to the house of my grandparents when she could, to help my grandmother with taking care of my grandfather. My dad, my little sisters and I were there also very often, because we all knew that this would be the last weeks that our grandfather would be alive. This was during our summer break, so my parents decided not to go on holiday but to stay with my grandfather. I was really tired at the time and all I did after school was lying in bed and I only came out for dinner. I did go out and do fun things with friends though, as often as was possible, but I never genuinely enjoyed those moments. My grades were really bad and so my parents got very mad at me. They forbid me to do fun things with my friends until I got my life back on track. That made things even worse. I just was not happy for a really long time and you can definitely say that I was very close to getting
