During a certain period in life, an individual must make the decision to follow the path of an outstanding career or settle with a temporary job. Most people may view a job as the safer choice; however, they do not realize the better life a career has to offer. Essentially, to teenagers making these life decisions, they confirm with a job because it’s quick and easy to get, it requires minimum training, and it serves as a starting point. As for a career, it may seem as years of unnecessary education, it can be physically demanding, and expensive. Although jobs are the easier choice, working towards a career is more beneficial that settling for a typical job because a career provides a variety of additional benefits that cannot be experienced in a job.

Someone with the capacity to follow the educational path of a career is bound to have several healthcare benefits that jobs simply just do not offer. For example, most careers that are sponsored by big companies, or just general careers, have employee-sponsored health coverage. However in a job, people are not provided with insurance coverage and therefore cannot be supported. Claudia O’keefe in her essay TheTtraveling Bra Salesman’s Lesson explained the struggles of being stuck in a job, stating that when she earned a supposedly professional job she only accumulated “…$1103 each month after taxes, no health insurance, or benefits” (O’Keefe 206). Even though some jobs claim to have a professional title, they do not hold remarkable gains such as a career. In addition, oriented careers can also offer retirement benefits. If it is a long lasting career, most individuals will receive that option to retire and have those added financial or social
