I have always been a girl who has wanted to be involved. No matter what it was I wanted to do it. Basketball, volleyball, Girl’s Pioneers, Forensics. The list goes on and on. As I have grown, that passion to be involved has endured. I find myself doing the same type of things I have alway loved and expect to bring them with me to college. One thing I have always enjoyed is the sport of volleyball. Through my grade school and high school days I have learned many aspects of life including hard work. That same hard work on the court can also be seen off the court. I always try hard to excel in my academics. My devotion to my studies has lead me to exceptional grades throughout the years and three years of academic high honors.

Academic Argument To be considered a top recruit you don’t even have to display your intelligence all you need to display is the athletic ability that you have obtained. The film “Hoop Dreams” shows the two main characters being pursued by college coaches because of what they could potentially bring to the team not what they can bring to the school. The only time education was important to Arthur and William was when their high school coach or counselor informed them that they had to reach a set score to be able to be recruited and attend the high-powered school. As an athlete, I began my journey in sports full of dedication, fire, and hopeful anticipation of what I could do on the football field and on the basketball court. Much of my life has been devoted to extracurricular activities such as sports and the comelec, which taught me hard lessons in ethics and values that have made me who I am today. I not only represented my school varsity, but also sports clubs outside of school, which led me to compete in several local and international tournaments. As well as my passion for sports, I grew into my passion for service; service for others and for my school, partaking in clubs and community service activities, each endeavor playing a role in the development of my abilities and expansion of my potential…

To Play or Not To Play???“Put Me in Coach” When people reminisce about their high school years, fond memories of being at the height of fitness, spending countless hours with teammates, and playing in the “Big Game” are often treasured. However, some students at St. Anthony High School are choosing not to be involved in the athletic program for social and academic reasons. As a result, many are missing out on one of the most important aspects of their high school career. From my conversation with her I could see how proud she was of discipline, strong work ethic, and positive attitude. It seems that she felt as if academic and psychological resources are ample for student athletes and that the support she has found here at Wright State has made her undergraduate degree more enjoyable. Despite these positive feelings about student athletes, she expressed that she was always busy, is board with team drama, has had injuries, and is constantly exhausted.…
