There are four distinct attributes that every single champion athlete possesses that put them over the edge in their respective sport and can be carried over into Mixed Martial Arts and other combat sports. Granted, many great athletes possess natural talent which is a gift, but everyone possesses the ability to gain the skills needed to compete at high levels of competition. One skill is mental toughness.

Talent along with physical abilities will still only take you so far simply because they're physical characteristics which inturn only comprise 50% of your body wholes. People must include the other half of themselves which happens to be the mental game. The next 4 attributes undoubtedly are a prerequisite if you wish to be a success.

As the battle heads to the next level, responsive athletes step up their game as the game itself, steps up. These types of athletes are coined "clutch" players, or "the go to guys". They do not withdraw from the challenge and become unresponsive. This is another indicator of a mentally tough athlete.

Be Strong: Mentally and emotionally strong athletes support the capability to impose as well as resist tremendous emotional force while under significant challenges which help them maintain their particular "fighter" attitude. They are not swayed simply by "momentum swings" or "bad calls" or mistakes. They retain the aggression right from the start to the end, regardless of pain, exhaustion, or even the scoreboard. They keep battling since it's putting up the good fight that is crucial to them.

Be sturdy: Resilient athletes are able to absorb incidents as well as mistakes and recover rapidly while at the same time getting tougher. They put the bad circumstances behind them and refocus on the particular endeavor taking place. They recognize that focusing on the situation simply creates much more issues, thus being a remedy focused athlete gives them a lot more choices for
