Argumentative Essay – Presidential Election
This 2016 presidential election is by far the most important race in American history. Although every election year is categorized as the most important election, it is usually a tool to get more people out to vote. However, this year is the first year that the white house is an open seat where “there is no incumbent running for President in this election” ("Why 2016 May Actually Be the Most Important Election of Our Lifetime"). This means that there will be a new acting president and vice-president this January. Although this may seems like protocol for every election, the hype that this particular race brings could lead this election into a tie where the vice-president will be the “tie-breaking vote” in the senate. Being that currently the senate is split 54-46 giving support to the republicans, it is unlikely that the senate will split evenly. The thought of there ever being a tie is a worrisome thing to contemplate with, however, that still does not change the fact that we need to elect a good and effective president. A president is the commander and chief of a nation. A good president is someone who will bring attention to vital issues. This allows for the people living in the United States to be in the loop with key problems that are going on around them. This will nudge congress to put forth action on these particular matters. A good president will also be able to communicate with his or her people when facing a crisis. It…
