Teen Mom 2 A teenage girl finds out that she is pregnant, she decides to keep the baby and doesn’t realize the hardships that come with raising a child. Let’s add in a couple of girls in the same predicament and a camera crew that follows them around for a couple of years. There you have it, a reality television show that follows the lives of teen moms, with a very straightforward title: Teen Mom 2. The exact episode viewed was from season four episode eleven, produced by Dia Sokol Savage and Morgan Freeman (Not the famous actor Morgan Freeman). Teen Mom is a televised display of exploitation of young mothers struggling to adjust to adulthood while raising their children. In Teen Mom 2, we follow the journey of four young mothers whose stories are interweaved to complete the series. This series specifically follows the lives of Jenelle Evans, Chelsea Houska, Kailyn Marroquin, and Leah Calvert in their first few years of motherhood. With this particular episode came many aspects of how hard it actually is to take care of a child at such a young age. Chelsea has a daughter with her ex-boyfriend Adam, in this episode she has realized that pushing her vision of a family with Adam was driving him away, she decided the best thing for herself and her daughter was to go back to beauty school and establish a co-parenting relationship only. Leah has twin girls, Ali and Aleeah, while noticing Ali was developing slower than her sister she reaches out to doctors. They see a neuromuscular specialist who could give them a diagnosis of her delayed growth. Leah is fearful of what Ali’s disorder may be and whether there is a treatment or not. Having a reality television show that incorporates the lives of multiple women, we gain a perspective of what it is like to have a child at such a young age. However when there is a point where a child’s welfare may be in danger and an illegal drug is being injected into someone’s system in real time, I think there is a point where the show needs be cut off for the sake of their child. It does expose the lifestyle that depicts the reality of many families; this is a familiar occurrence to many people I know. Teen Mom 2 is also televised for the purpose of entertaining others; it’s a twisted manner of being amused by watching these teenagers struggle to raise a child. This TV show may even convince other teenagers that if they got pregnant they could simply be cast on the show and become famous likes these other
