Argumentative Essay: Gun Control In The United States

Our president fails to provide simple protection for his people, and one of them that has become such a big issue to this day is gun control. Gun control in the U.S. has lead to various deaths especially on the kids school community. It’s devastating to constantly hear on the news that another school shooting has occurred in the U.S., but unfortunately our gun laws won’t change and we have to live with the fact that anyone can get access to a deadly weapon like this. There is a way to keep this from happening, and that’s just to change our gun laws. However, as much as they try to do everything to prevent this from happening, the change for our access to lethal weapons like these won’t change. Our president wants to arm our teacher instead of addressing the possibility of changing our gun violence. A school in Pennsylvania, Blue Mountain School are giving their students rocks for protection. Another school in Florida, Douglas High School recently made a new rule for their students requiring clear backpacks. When in fact they can simply change our gun laws to help prevent such massacres to happen. For example, “Calls to arm teachers or to allow college students to carry guns will only lead to more gun deaths and injuries, not fewer. By contrast, laws that prohibit guns in schools and impose harsh penalties for gun possession help keep students and educators safe.” In other words, fighting fire with fire won’t help this situation and basically the only way to prevent this problem is to just banned these kind of firearms at school and also anywhere
