Animal testing should be banned. “An animal test is any scientific experiment of

test in which a live animal is forced to undergo something that is likely to cause them

pain, suffering, distress or lasting harm” (crueltyfreeinternational.org). Animal testing

has been practiced since 300-200 BC. These test were led by men like Aristole and

Eragistratus. They used live animals to test various medical

Another alternative is using

artificial human skin, such as “the commercially available products EpiDerm and

ThinCert, is made from sheets of human skin cells grown in test tubes or plastic wells

and can produce more useful results than testing chemicals on animal skin”

(procon.org). Major arguments are the following: Is it ethical? Is it beneficial to scientist?

Are there better alternatives? After careful examination, it will be proven that animal

testing should be banned.

One critical argument is whether animal testing is ethical. Ethical is defined as,

“pertaining to or dealing with morals or the principles of morality; pertaining to right and

wrong in conduct” (dictionary.com). Knowing the history of how animals are treated Reine, 4

during animal experimentation is very important. The source, Neavs.org provides

information on what happenes in testing labs; it states, “in research and testing, animals

Animal Research is, has always been, and will most likely continue to be a delicate subject. The use of animals in research ranges from cosmetics to medical and wherever there are animals being tests there are groups of people arguing the morality and ethics of the testing being done. Excluding cosmetics and the like for now (that’s a different argument), the use of animal research in neuroscience is absolutely necessary and though it is a sensitive issue, there are ways to make it more ethically acceptable and to protect the animals themselves from blatant cruelty. Today, animal research is more humane than it has ever been.…

Also, plenty of these companies that test on animals claim to do it because there are requirement laws for it in other countries that they sell to (“About Cosmetic Testing”); if this is the case then these companies shouldn 't sell to those countries till new laws are passed. So on, there is no necessity to use animals for cosmetics testing, making it unethical and cruel to the animals. There should be more laws on testing on animals in the basis of cosmetics, but separate from…

Animal testing is wrong towards animals for many reasons. If you think about animal testing like animal fighting which is similar because the animals are forced to do stuff they have no consent with. Animal testing is cruel and inhumane. These animals are subjected to forced feeding, forced inhalation, food and water deprivation, prolonged periods of physical restraint, infliction of burns and wounds to study the healing process and effects and remedies. Among the cruelest experiments is the Draize eye test which evaluates irritation by shampoos and other products to the eyes. During this experiment rabbits are restrained and their eyelids are held open by clips for multiple days which leads to the death of 50% of rabbits used (Scientific American, "Do Cosmetic Companies Still Test on Live Animals?," scientificamerican.com). We also are very different from animals; having different metabolic, anatomical, and cellular differences.…

These animals are used to develop medical treatments, determine the toxicity of medications, check the safety of products destined for human use, and other biomedical, commercial, and healthcare uses ("Animal Testing - ProCon.org"). Although it may seem that there are many benefits of testing on animals it is still very inhumane to the animals. These animals being locked inside these barren cages begin to lack the enrichment they need. The lack of environmental enrichment causes them to become stressed and the develop neurotic behaviors. Such behaviors include “incessantly spinning in circles, rocking back and forth, pulling out their own fur, and even biting themselves” (“Animal Testing 101”).…

767,622 different types of animals were used in 2015, and even more in 2016. AAVS reported their annual statistics showing over the years how many animals have been used, and how much they have to suffer due to scientists using them. Animals shouldn’t be put through this kind of conditions, so they shouldn’t be used for scientific testing, because it’s inhumane, it leads to nowhere, and it’s not even accurate. First of all, animals go through very harsh testing, and barely survive. They get inflicted with burns, decapitated, and sometimes even get deprived of food and water for many days.…

Now days, society can volunteer themselves in clinical drug research for a monetary exchange. With modern science “we can see inside peoples’ brains using imaging machines or test microscopic amounts of new drugs harmlessly on volunteers.” (BUAV.org the campaign to end animal experiments, pg 7) Humans are more willing to volunteer themselves for the money, but also because strict health and safety precautions are put in place for their well-being at all times during the study. Humans can also communicate their side effects and pain occurrence which provides sound and optimal results for future modifications and or dosages. Unfortunately, animals cannot communicate these important factors, which in turn is useless.…
