Cruelty to animals, called animal abuse or animal neglect, and also animal testing is both the unintentional and the intentional infliction of suffering or harm upon any animal by humans, regardless of whether the act is against the law. Why is this so important? It is important because people who abuse animals often move on to abusing people and because animals are creatures who feel pain.
