One major reason for the Civil War was due to slavery. The south was all for it and they were upset at the north for not jumping on board. The south depened on slavery for there continued economic growth. The north was growing rapidly due to a high number of individuals moving north. The war had many changes after it was over, the people saw blacks as inferior and feared that emancipation would lure slaves north to steal the white jobs and politcial rights. Black soilders were usually led by white officers they recived lower pay, poorer food, often more menial work and fewer benifits than whites.
